You’re Invitation to IAP 2024 (EN)

Dear friends and members in the “World of Pathology” and in Latin America

Education is the prime mandate of the IAP, more than 14.000 pathologists are members of our organization covering the five Continents. In particular, we pay special attention to the educational needs of those regions that are either under-resourced or need educational support brought about by circumstances that are prevailing in a region at the time.
With this in mind, the IAP was extremely pleased to receive a bid, support, and award for the hosting of the next International Congress of the International Academy of Pathology to the Mexican Division, which as you know is to be held in Cancun, from the 27th–31st October 2024. This Congress follows similar events held in our continent, which took place in 1990 in Buenos Aires and 2010 in San Paulo. Both of them reached great success in enhancing pathology in Latin America. New Divisions were created such as the Cuban Division, and others activated. Now is the time for the Mexican Division and the Latin American Assembly to gather together all pathologists from America and particularly from those Divisions and Societies like the SLAP, involved in diagnostic histopathology and in the new emerging and fascinating ways to approach disease by morphological means.
As Past President and current President, we both recognize the importance of the
forthcoming meeting in Cancun which will further enhance the practice of pathology and strengthen existing and create new ties in this geographical area of the world.
This was the example of the benefits after the hosting of the IAP Congress in Cape Town in 2012 which provided impetus to the creation of the African Assembly and the creation of new Divisions, with similar benefits expected to flow to the Latin American Assembly after the meeting.
Today Latin American pathology has a strong presence in the “Word of Pathology” but without a doubt, after the Cancun Congress reaches the highest place their
pathologists’ merit in our medical and scientific community.
We welcome you to Cancun for the XXXV IAP Congress this coming October.
